Idiot High School Kid Punished for Tebowing at Graduation...Good

ESPN - A graduating senior at a Fort Myers, Fla., high school was punished for "Tebowing" on stage Saturday prior to receiving his diploma...Chuck Shriner, who said he was acting on a $5 bet with a classmate, took a knee and bowed his head in the prayer pose of New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow during Bishop Verot Catholic High's graduation ceremony. "I just thought it was fun. I was just doing it to make graduation memorable," Shriner said, according to NBC affiliate WPTV. Neither Bishop Verot principal John Cavell nor Shriner's mother, a math teacher at the school, found humor in it. According to WPTV, Cavell withheld the diploma at the urging of Shriner's mother. As punishment, Shriner had to clean up the gymnasium, where the graduation ceremony was held, before receiving the diploma. A spokesman for the school said the punishment was the idea of Shriner's mother.

Good. His mom should have whupped him as he walked off the stage, frankly. All these internet fads, they're passed people, it's over. You're too late, it's not funny anymore, and you look like a jackass. This goes for leisure diving, planking, tebowing, Icing, those stupid pictures where everyone tries to jump at the same time at the beach except the fat girls on the end are always a second late or 12 inches lower than the rest of the group, and any other dumb internet picture fad thing that I'm forgetting. They're all over.

Hey dumb-ass, 20 years from now you're going to be remembered as the idiot kid that genuflected during graduation to mimic a back up NFL QB. Congratufuckinglations.

General rule of thumb: If you would make fun of some asshole while out, at a bar, at Six Flags, the mall, wherever, for doing one of those moves with his friends, then you shouldn't be doing it either. Case closed.

May 1st, 2012 - The Day Paul Pierce Finally Won Me Over

What a freaking game by the C's, huh? First of all, I'm shocked this whole highlight wasn't just Pierce replays, apparently between dominating the 1st quarter and absolutely owning the 4th quarter the other 9 guys on the court played around for a bit. Could have fooled me.

In what was an absolute snoozer of a game Pierce might have finally attained a very, very rare accomplishment for Boston athletes...he unconditionally won CW over. There's very few athletes in my time as a Boston sports fan that I can say that about. It's certainly not in the double digits.

Believe me, that's a huge deal. 14 or so seasons, a championship, a slew of all-star appearances, that fantastic series against Lebron and Cleveland a few seasons ago...didn't do it. I know, that's wicked odd, almost sacrilege, but its true. I've written about it before, most notably here, but growing up I was an Antoine guy. I know that's indefensible now, I won't get into it again, this is about Pierce today.

For years Pierce was just a guy with a sour-puss on his face, the ugliest set of basketball skills I've ever seen, and the guy who owns the patent on the worst crunch time offensive set of all time (elbow extended fades with the clock running down)...He hasn't always been the easiest guy to root for, there's just not much for a fan to latch onto and say "that's why I love Paul Pierce." Today, he's still very much that guy. The crunch time offense still flows through his aesthetically unpleasing offensive selections, he's a flopper, his best offensive move is the pump fake, he never appears to run at more than a 7.2 on the treadmill, and the scowl is still there when things aren't going his way...and yet, he produces.

He's softened me the past few years and last night finally cemented it. I finally believe that he actually gives a shit about what it means to be a Celtic.  That's an odd, maybe unfair, and completely selfish thing to say as a fan, but its The Truth (pun completely intended).

The C's could have flopped last night, Pierce could have just given his usual effort, KG would have attempted to pick up the slack, but it wouldn't have been enough in the absence of Rondo. The Celts would have been down 0-2 and we'd have spent the today and the next two days wondering if the current Big 4's run was up. If the warriors had finally run out of fight.

Nope. Pierce wouldn't let it happen, he put in a game for the ages from the opening tip til the final buzzer. He turned back the clock at least 4 years. That was an aging start with too much pride to let his team go out like that. He may not be able to do that every night, but he still has enough left in the tank to turn it up when the team needs him, when the fans need him, when the Celtic franchise needs him. He gets it.

When he talks about loving being a Celtic in his usual monotone, I'll buy into it now. I won't think it's lip service, I won't foolishly hold on to his early career surly demeanor as his true feelings toward the team, the franchise, the fans, and the game.

I may be the last one on, but I'm now full on the Pierce bandwagon. Sorry it took me so long.

Please God, If You're Listening, Make Tebow Go to the Jets

ESPN - While one league source says the Dolphins are not likely to deal for Tebow, two sources told ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini on Tuesday night the Jets' interest in Tebow has intensified. The Jets, who a league source originally categorized as "a long shot at best," are concerned about the negative perception of its locker room. The Jets were divided by player unrest last season, and "bringing in a guy like (Tebow) would help," one source told Cimini. "It makes perfect sense...The Jets are intrigued by what Tebow could do in the wildcat offense. New coordinator Tony Sparano introduced the wildcat to the NFL as coach of the Miami Dolphins. That, coupled with Rex Ryan's desire to be a power-running team, has fueled organizational discussion on Tebow. On the downside, there's concern Tebow's presence could create a distraction for incumbent Mark Sanchez, whose leadership came into question after the season. Sanchez recently received a three-year contract extension with $20.5 million in guarantees, all but ensuring he'll be the starter for at least the next two years..."I don't know how he'd handle it," one source said of Sanchez. "That would be interesting."

Someone get me Mike Tannebaum's personal address, I'm going to write them a check to help this along.

Please God, for all that's holy, bring Tebow to the Jets. First off, if there was one locker room in the league that needs more God in their lives, its the Jets.  Can you imagine the conversation between Cromartie and Tebow? Cro trying to list off his clan of children, followed by Tebow mentioning that he actually knows 3 of Cro's kids from the charity shelter he works at in the off season...that would be fantastic.

But it's about more than spreading the Word of Tebow...It's about my entertainment as a Patriots fan, which would be at an all time high. Read this back: "The Jets are intrigued by what Tebow could do in the wildcat offense." Really? The wildcat offense? The offense that was roundly abandoned 2 and a half seasons ago after its abject failure in its first full time go around in Miami? Man, Tony Sparano just can't quit the wildcat, huh? You think he already forgot that the wildcat is probably one of the main factors in why his team was never able to develop a reliable NFL QB in his time there? That maybe yanking your young QB in favor of the likes of Ronnie Brown, Pat White, and now, Tim Tebow,  for 10-15 snaps a game for some gimmick offense isn't the best message to send to your impressionable quarterback.  You think he's thought about that?

Actually, I'll tell you who probably loves this, and that's Mark Sanchez...As you'll recall, the last time the Jets flirted with another QB, Peyton Manning, the team loaded up and gave Sanchez an outrageous raise to smooth over any hurt feelings...Never mind the fact that he was coming off basically his worst year since his rookie year, in which he took no steps forward in his progress as a professional quarterback and all of his teammates openly wondered whether he could lead them to wins...So yea, he's probably at home grinning, still counting his new pile of money and wondering when the Brinks truck will be backing up again after the team's little foray with Tebow this time around.

First class organization all the way over there.

Wake Up Jets Fans...You Just Got Tebowed!

A CW Original, Bitches!...Yea, I just figured out meme's, no big deal I've just been an internet master for a decade now and am just getting to meme's.

Anyway, all due respect to Iowa, I think Denver is now the lords chosen land, because there is no other way to explain what happened last night.  Like all game long Denver decides they're going to try and play some semblance of normal, NFL rules football, to the tune of exactly 0 success, only to completely toss the script 4th quarter and call designed qb run, after designed qb run, and have the Jets D inexplicably react as if they didn't know what was coming. Unfathomable. I now believe in divine intervention.

And to the Jets offense...fucking gross dudes...In a game with Denver your offense should never be the one people are talking about after the game. Like every opposing offense heading into a game with Denver should know that, "hey whatever we do, we won't be the media's focal point this week," but I guess Mark Sanchez defies the laws of normal media policy.

The guy flat out sucks...I'll take Tebow hucking the ball wildly in the direction of his receivers 10-15 times per game and calling fullback off tackles for himself the rest of the time, over Sanchez nervously tossing dead ducks all over the field 30-40 times a game and dancing in the pocket like a kid who's about three seconds and one defensive lineman away from pissing in his league approved jock strap. Mark Sanchez, you suck.
