Gawker - After weeks of silence, George Zimmerman has emerged with his own website: therealgeorgezimmerman.com. Zimmerman's lawyers have confirmed that the site is legitimate. The site — which loads intermittently, probably due to the number of people trying to access it — has the following statement from Zimmerman: On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage. As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website's sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries...Zimmerman was concerned that individuals or groups purporting to raise money for his legal defense were scamming his supporters, as he has not received any of the donations. His site includes a PayPal link for people interested in contributing.
Nice try George, if there's one thing I've figured out in running this blog its that the internet just doesn't up and give you money, you've got to learn to earn it...I mean look at this site, my blogging skills land anywhere between complete fire to "this is the downfall of the internet" on a post to post basis, everyday. You'd think I'd be rolling in the loot, right? Well not so much. So excuse me if I think that just posting a link to donate to your paypal account without doing anything to entertain us isn't going to work (though please let me know if it does, I'll have a donate here button up faster than you can blink).
